OUR API
Focus Forward’s API provides a quick and simple process to integrate your application with ours. Integrate with our API to avoid manual upload of files. Audio comes directly to us with the click of a button, and transcripts are returned just as seamlessly.
Quick Start Overivew
- Focus Forward provides the client with a unique endpoint URL that can be built into client applications for the transmission of files (audio/video, survey responses, etc.) to the Focus Forward file storage platform.
- All files will be stored in a client-specific location on the storage platform, identified by an API key provided to the client by Focus Forward. This key will need to be included in all requests to our system in order to authenticate the request. The endpoint can be customized to accept additional data fields from the client’s application as applicable (job names/numbers, interview date/ti me, name of interviewee, etc.)
- If the client chooses to have Focus Forward pass the completed transcript back into their system, they can provide Focus Forward with an endpoint URL on their platform to direct the file to, as well as any additional data fields that need to be passed back

Parameters (JSON string):
fileId: unique file identifier that client system will understand f or notification passbacks (required)
authtoken: a unique client-specific token to authenticate the request as coming from your system. Will be provided at setup.
We can accept either URLs to media files or direct uploads. Based on that preference, one of the following would be required:
mediaURL: Direct URL to recording file
file: upload content of the recording file
Any additional parameters that you’d need to identify your files can also be included. Any parameters received other than those listed above will be treated as “pass-through” parameters and will be included in any return calls but not handled by our system.
